Platoon members were instructed to report to the Armed Forces Examing and Entrance Station, 438 South Main Steet, Salt Lake City no later than 7:00 a.m on July 22, 1970. The "Utah" platoon was officially formed while still in Utah, so they could participate in the annual "Days of 47" celebration in Salt Lake City before departing for boot camp on July 24th.
